NAPDDR – National Action Plan Drug Demand Reduction Awareness Programme
The school children, college/polytechnic/ITI and out of school children in High risk and vulnerable areas have sensitized on ill-effects of drug abuse by adopting various methodologies such as flip chart, pictorial posters, short films, case study sharing and educative sessions. The IRCA programme staff had involved on conducting the activities among young people. For each activity, the related stakeholders and department officials have involved.
Early identification and reduction of stigmatization among children will be focused and supported with necessary guidance and counseling assistance. In addition to family programmes, we had emphasized school and community programmes as being beneficial in substance abused have prevention. The Report also suggests introducing programmes at an early age (pre-school/first grade) to address risk factors for later substance abuse, such as early aggression, poor social skills and academic difficulty.
